The 7 Allowance Decisions sheet: seven numbered questions, each with a line to write on
The actual sheet. PDF in US Letter and A4.

What is on it

Seven decisions, in the order that makes the later ones easier.

  1. Will we use an allowance at all?Or pay per job, or hand money over when it is needed.
  2. What is it meant to teach? One sentence. The amount follows from it.
  3. What is expected regardless, unpaid? The family jobs.
  4. What can earn extra?Optional jobs, each with a price.
  5. How often do we pay, and on which day?Weekly, every two weeks or monthly.
  6. How is the money split, and what does it cover?Spend, save and give.
  7. How will we review it?A weekly check-in and a monthly review.

What it is, and what it is not

The sheet makes the decisions. A parent can fill it in tonight and know what the family’s allowance rules are.

It does not run them. There is no agreement to sign, no job lists, no weekly log and no monthly review on this page. Those are in Money-Ready Kid, the full system, which is separate and not required.

General educational information for parents. It is not financial advice.
