Privacy Policy
Last updated August 30, 2026
The short version. The numbers you type into a calculator are processed in your browser and never reach our servers. Some preferences, such as your child's age stage and your quiz answers, are stored on your own device so the site can be useful when you return. We use Google Analytics to understand traffic, which sets cookies. We do not run advertising.
What we collect
Calculator inputs: not collected
Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. Income, salary, childcare costs, your child's age, and every other figure you enter are used to produce a result on your screen and are not transmitted to us or stored by us. This remains true regardless of the analytics described below, which measure how the site is used, not what you type.
Stored on your device, not sent to us
To make the site useful on a return visit, we store a small amount of information in your browser's local storage:
- Your child's age stage, if you have taken the quiz
- Your quiz answers, so you can resume or revisit your result
- Which system the quiz recommended
This stays on your device. It is not sent to us, and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data removes it. Some calculators also put your settings in the page URL, so you can bookmark or share a result. That happens in your browser and is only shared if you share the link yourself.
Automatically collected
Like most websites, our hosting and analytics record standard technical information: approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and which pages you view.
Information you send us
If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you include. We use it to reply and to improve the site.
Email sign-ups
If you ask to be notified when a product is released, we collect your email address and which product you asked about, through our email provider, solely to send you what you asked for. We do not sell or share the list, every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can request deletion at any time.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, so we can see which tools are worth building more of and fix what is not working. It collects pages viewed, time on page, referrer, approximate IP-based location, and device and browser type. It also records events such as starting a calculator, completing the quiz, and signing up to be notified about a product.
It does not record the numbers you type into a calculator. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors within a session and across visits, and Google processes that data under its own privacy policy. You can opt out using Google's browser opt-out add-on, or read Google's privacy policy.
Advertising
We do not currently run advertising on this site, and no advertising or ad-targeting scripts are loaded. If that changes, this page will be updated before any ad code goes live.
Payments
Our paid products are not yet released. When they are, checkout and delivery will be handled by Gumroad, and clicking a purchase link takes you to Gumroad's site, where their privacy policy and terms apply. We would receive order information from them, but never your card details.
Your choices
- Clear your browser data to remove everything stored locally by this site.
- Use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or a browser that blocks analytics.
- Unsubscribe from any email using the link in it.
- Email us to request deletion of anything we hold.
Children
This site is written for parents, not children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
